RE: Immediate Release – Anti-Hate Summit

The Wilkes-Barre NAACP and the Luzerne County Diversity Commission will co-sponsor an Anti-Hate Summit on Sunday, June 29, 2008 at the Dorothy Dickson Darte Center for the Performing Arts, corner of South River Street at West South Street, Wilkes University. The program will begin at 2:30 p.m., and is open to the general public. Presentation will be done by the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission. The presenters will be Ann Van Dyke, and Martin Kearney. The topics will be: The state of white supremists groups in Pennsylvania, how communities can respond when flooded with flyers, and leaflets, what attracts participation in these groups, and what actions and events can communities sponsor to put forth a positive message that encourages harmony within the community. The program will conclude with a Q & A session.
