How To End Racism with 2014: End Black History Month in 2015

Morgan Freeman could not have said it better and his solution could not be simpler; nor more profound.

In a 2005 interview with Mike Wallace of CBS’ 60 Minutes, Academy Award-winning actor Morgan Freeman, took 60 seconds to make a statement that could virtually end racism in this country.  He said that having a Black History Month was “ridiculous” and that the best way to end racism today is to “stop talking about it.”  However, it is the last thing that he says in this video that is the end all to the problem of racism in America.

Freeman, known for his roles in The Shawshank Redemption, Unforgiven, and Million Dollar Baby, summed it all up with the most profound solution in less than a minute.  No more needs to be said.  I emphatically agree with him!

In lieu of all the racial unrest that has occurred this year, we desperately need to do things differently next year.  What better way to begin than to let go of the most useless, ridiculous celebration of so-called “Black History” that is really the history of how White America treated us anyway.

It has always been offensive for other races to force their awareness on us and it is selfish for us to continue to force our awareness on others!
